History
Barbara Drexel Bescher established Drexel Hall in 1910. As an immigrant and single mother of seven, Drexel took her business savvy from her small vegetable stand in the River Market and founded an event space in the up-and-coming midtown district. By 1925, Drexel Hall had become a Kansas City architectural landmark. Since its opening, Drexel Hall has hosted thousands of gatherings from small suffragette meetings to large, Italian weddings.
